If situation does not improve till 2 May, then HSLC & HS exam in Assam will be postponed: HBS
April 21: In a tweet on Wednesday, State Health & Education Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that, “In case the daily case rate in Guwahati Metro touches 1000, the district administration has been authorized to take a decision to close down educational institutions and hostels.” Replying to a query of a journalist as regards conduct of HSLC & HS in the state, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Obviously, if the Covid situation worsens and the schools and colleges in Guwahati are closed, then how can we conduct HSLC and HS. In that situation, these examinations will have to be cancelled.”
“So if the Covid situation does not improve till 2 May, then we will have to cancel HSLC and HS examinations in the state. We will keenly observe the situation till 2 May so that any decision in this regard can be taken after the new government is formed in Assam. It is natural that if the Covid situation further worsens, then it is certain that examinations cannot be conducted. But if the situation improves by 2 May, then there will be no reason of cancellation of the exams,” added Himanta Biswa Sarma.
He further urged upon the students not to worry about this as of now and the appropriate decision in this connection will be taken on 2 May, 2021.
