ICICI Bank sets up ATM at SMCH campus, fulfills long standing demand of Medical College fraternity
Aug. 25: There has been a long standing demand of the doctors, teachers association, staff and especially by the patients and their attendants for setting up of an ATM kiosk within the premises of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). Finally, on Wednesday, ICICI Bank came forward in fulfilling the demands of the people by setting up of an ATM. This is undoubtedly a praiseworthy initiative by the country’s biggest private sector Bank towards its corporate social responsibility.
Infact, there is no ATM available within Silchar Medical College campus. Those who are in urgent need of cash had to travel for around a kilometre near NIT Silchar to withdraw money from an ATM installed there. An official of ICICI Bank informed that their officials when learnt about this issue, immediately decided as part of their CSR to fulfill people’s demand. Finally, their efforts bore fruits and the ATM was inaugurated on 25 August.
During the inauguration ceremony, officials of ICICI Bank, Principal of SMCH Dr. Babul Kr. Bezbaruah, Vice Principal Dr Bhaskar Gupta along with others doctors and staff were present during the formal inauguration of the ATM. This initiative of the Bank is probably a befitting tribute to the Covid warriors.
