Huge surge: With 182 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 398 on 13 May
Active cases 1129 in Cachar
May 13: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Thursday at 11 PM. As per the latest data, 182 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 398 persons were found positive in the district on 13 May. Earlier, at 6.00 PM, it was informed that 216 persons were found positive. As per records, 398 positive cases in a day is the highest single day spike of Covid cases in Cachar district since the outbreak of the pandemic. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 1,129. It needs mention here that the total number of positive cases detected on Wednesday was 370.
As per the updated data, a total of 1,994 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, a total of 205 persons were found positive in Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), whereas 193 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Thursday night. With this, the total number of Covid cases in 2021 reached 3,607 in 2021, whereas during the year, 2,452 patients were discharged.
Apart from this, Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed informed that out of the 1129 active patients:
- 223 of them are admitted at SMCH
- 07 in MH
- 17 at SMDCH
- 29 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
- 21 at CRPF Doyapur
- 24 at Gracewell Nursing Home
- 15 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
- 09 at Valley Hospital
- 784 patients are in home isolation.
Thursday witnessed demise of two more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). However, none of them were from Cachar district. This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board as per the protocol. Out of the 02 deceased at SMCH on 13 May, 01 of them is from Karimganj district, while the other is from Hailakandi. The deceased were identified as: Rijiya Begum Barbhuiya (45) from Algapur in Hailakandi district and P.K. Bhattacharjee (68) from Badarpur in Karimganj district
