Huge number of 2136 patients discharged in Assam on Wednesday

August 12: On Wednesday, a huge number of 2136 patients were discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care Centres across Assam. With this, a total of 47,209 were discharged from Assam as of now. Further, during the day, the state recorded its biggest single day spike of 4593 new positive cases. With this, the state tally of coronavirus cases has gone upto 68,999, out of which, 23,762 are active cases. Further, Assam in the last 24 hours, team Assam carried out 143,109 tests. This takes the total test conducted in Assam to a record high of 1573800. Six more deaths were also registered in Assam during the day, thereby taking the death tally of the state to 161.

In a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “2136  patients discharged today. The number gives me a sense of contentment. Kudos to team of doctors for all their selfless efforts.”
