Honour killing! Police digs out body of 19-year-old female from grave for investigation, parents arrested

March 12:  In a sensational incident, a dead body of a 19 years old girl was found lying in a pool of blood in a field very near to her house. The incident occurred at Rupaibali area of Shibpur in Cachar district on Thursday. The girl identified as 19-year-old Jasmin Begum Laskar had cut marks on her neck and other parts of the body. After post-portem, the body was handed over to her parents and the last rites were performed as per Islamic rites.

However, as police started investigation, they found inconsistencies in the statement of the parents of the deceased. What came as a surprise to the police is that the deceased girl was 8 months pregnant, a fact which the parents feigned ignorance. Meanwhile, police has also recovered a sharp weapon from the house of the deceased which they suspected to be used for the murder. Meanwhile, police has learnt to have zeroed on their preliminary investigation upon the parents and has arrested them.

Father of the deceased on the day of murder…

On Saturday, for the sake of further investigation, police has ordered the body of the 19-year-old deceased from the grave. Sources revealed that DNA test will also be performed to find out the biological father of the baby who too died in the womb of the deceased.

If the preliminary theory raised by the cops is to be believed, then the incident seems to be that of honour killing! Though the father of the deceased tried to point out his finger to another boy, but the evidence available to the police so far indicates all fingers towards the parents.
