Himanta praises efforts of MP Rajdeep Roy who along with others from Silchar raises donation

April 18: Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma was on a whirlwind tour of Assam on Saturday when he went to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) where the COVID-19 patient of Cachar district was released after his successful treatment. Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy who along with many leading organisations of Silchar collected an amount of Rs. 17.02 lakh for the Assam Arogya Nidhi fund.

The minister took to his twitter handle and showered lavish praises of Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy. He wrote, “Nothing, at this moment, is as precious as a donation. How nice of Silchar MP @drrajdeeproy, who along with many leading organisations of the city, gathered Rs 17.02 lakh and contributed to Assam Arogya Nidhi fund. Every count bolsters our abilities to fight #COVID.”

Himanta Biswa Sarma also received donations to Assam Arogya Nidhi Fund for COVID-19 relief from eminent surgeon Dr. Siddhartha Bhattacharjee an amount of Rs. 4 lakh, Debojit Deb gave Rs. 10 lakh and Rs.22,222 from Shabnam Arham Mazumder.
