Himanta gives 5 assurances in Karimganj; promises to give 1 lakh jobs by March 2022
March 18: It’s a matter of extreme honour for the people of Barak Valley that this region was selected by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to begin his election campaign in the poll bound Assam. With these words, BJP leader and Convenor of NEDA, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma began his brief speech at Bhatgram in Karimganj in the presence of the Prime Minister and other leaders of the party. Saying so, he exclaimed with all his might that the government in Assam will certainly be formed by the BJP.

Himanta Biswa Sarma then gave five assurances to the huge crowd that assembled in the poll rally. These are:
- BJP government will give 1 lakh government jobs to the youths of Assam before March 2022.
- At present, Rs.830 was given to the beneficiaries under the ‘Orunodoi’ scheme. Those women who have not been enlisted under this scheme will be done once the new BJP government is formed in the state.
- The amount of Rs.830 given to the beneficiaries of Orunodoi scheme shall be enhanced to Rs.3000 per month.
Dr. Sharma then went on to assert that BJP does not distinguish between Hindi speaking and Bengali or Hindu and Muslim. His party will work for the development of all sections of the populace. He expressed confidence that the government will again be formed in Assam by the BJP.
