Himanta attends cremation ceremony of patient who died due to COVID-19

June 29: On Sunday, Assam registered its 11th death due to COVID-19. A 45-years-old man, Hemanga Majumdar, resident of Khanapara, Guwahati died due to COVID-19 on Sunday in Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH). He was brought to GMCH in critical state. However, all efforts of the doctors went in vain and he breathed his last on Sunday.

State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Minister of State Pijush Hazarika attended cremation of Late Hemanga Majumdar at Ulubari. Sharing this information, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeeted, “He had succumbed to #COVID19. We’re in midst of an unprecedented crisis. Important for us to ensure our values, & faith in each other remain intact. We should lend moral support to all affected by Covid.”
