Cachar Forest Department rescues Monitor Lizard in Borjalenaga

August 3: On Sunday, Cachar Forest officials rescued a Monitor Lizard in Dashgram of Borjalenga GP under Dholai Constituency. With the help of locals and Loharbond Beat Officials of Cachar Forest division. They safely rescued the Monitor lizard and released it in Loharbond inner inner line Forest reserve.

Meanwhile, Loharbond Forest Beat Officer Kunoj Kanti Nath, Cachar Forest Division Staff Arobindu Deb, Borjalenga GP President Representatives Satyendra Roy, AP Member Representatives Ajoy Deb were present during the rescue operation. Team One Foundation Media Incharge Mohitosh Tanti was also present over there and helped the officials.

Expressing his views, Cachar DFO Sunny Deo Choudhary expressed gratitude towards the responsible citizens of the Borjalenga’s Dasram area and said, “The people are becoming more and more aware about the wildlife in their region and they always inform the forest department, if they find any wildlife in distress. The Cachar Forest Division also responded well in time.”
