Haystack laden mini truck catches fire, vehicle plunged into ditch, major accident averted

Jan. 26: In a dramatic sequence, a haystack laden mini truck somehow caught fire, which soon started to spread all over the vehicle. However, the presence of mind of the driver Matin Ahmed was successful in averting a major tragedy. As per reports, one Rijaul Islam loaded the truck with haystack at Saidpur village at Sonai in Cachar and was accompanying the truck driver Matin. However, soon the driver noticed that the haystack on his truck was on fire. Noticing the fearful scene, people on both sides of the road began to run and scream.

The driver of the Magic vehicle Matin Ahmed kept his cool and made use of the presence of mind. He at once started to drive the burning truck at a great pace and began to search for water body. Meanwhile, after driving the vehicle on fire for almost 2 kilometres, he could notice a ditch on the roadside. At once, he drove the vehicle on the roadside ditch. The burning truck almost submerged in the water body and the water therein extinguished the fire.

The presence of mind of the driver not only saved his life, but also the life of Rijaul Islam and the vehicle from getting burnt. A huge crowd gathered at the spot and helped the driver and the passenger come out unhurt from inside the vehicle. People were rejoicing at the bravery of the truck driver. However, the cause of fire could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
