Guwahati to host India-England women cricket series

December 17: It’s indeed a great news for the cricket lovers of Assam. The Barsapara cricket stadium inaugurated last year at Guwahati has been selected to host three one-day international and three T20 matches. The cricket matches are to be held as part of the ICC’s Women’s Cricket Series between India and England. The matches are likely to be held from February 14 to March 10, 2019.

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium is officially known as Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Cricket Stadium and is nicknamed as Assam Cricket Association Stadium. It was inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on October 10, 2017. The last One Day International played at Barsapara stadium was between India and West Indies on October 21 where India emerged victorious.
