Gunotsav 2022: Cachar organises district level sharing cum orientation of all heads of offices & institutions
May 5: District Level sharing cum Orientation of all heads of institutions (state & central) in connection with Gunotsav 2022 took pace on 5 May, 2022 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. The Orientation Programme was inaugurated District Development Commissioner (DDC), Rajib Roy. During the day, training was imparted to around 80 officials in two shifts. Himashri Deka, Assistant Commissioner cum District Mission Coordinator of SSA Cachar also graced the occasion.
In his introductory speech, DDC Rajib Roy narrated the objective of Gunotsav and provided important tips which needs to be kept in mind during the assessment by the External Evaluators. He said that those who were trained shall have to act as External Evaluators in Karimganj, Hailakandi and Cachar during the forthcoming Gunotsav 2022. Sudarshan Gupta, Assistant Professor of Radhamadhab College cum Master Trainer presented a power point presentation of the various aspects of Gunotsav and explained the various scholastic and co-scholastic areas which were to be examined in this connection. He was accompanied by Arunabha Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professor of Radhamadhab College, who is also a Master Trainer.
The programme was also attended by District Programme Officers of SSA Cachar- Panchatapa Choudhury, Dr Bidyut Choudhury, Rana Ranjan Nath, Papdi Bhattacharjee; Suraj Singh- DMIS, MDM among others.
All Government/ Provincialised/ Tea Garden Management Schools of Elementary & Secondary level will be covered. The districts will be covered in three phases. Schools of each district will be distributed over three days for external evaluation. Scholastic evaluation will be for class I to IX. As the academic year has started in the month of April and Gunotsav is also scheduled in May/ June, question papers will be administered to students of next higher class. Though level of class I to IX will be assessed, students from class II to X will have to be covered. Hence, students of class II will get question paper of class I and so on for the rest of the classes. There will be both self-evaluation and external evaluation. Evaluation will be for two days for each school. On the 1st day of the evaluation, all schools will conduct self-evaluation. The external evaluation of respective school as per schedule will be done on respective date of external evaluation.
Evaluation will be done in respect of following four areas:
● Scholastic (Both Skill-Reading, Writing & Numeracy/ Basic Mathematical Operations)
● Co-scholastic
● Community Participation.
● Infrastructure
Grading will be done on the following aspects:
● Scholastic: 90%
● Co-scholastic: 5%
● Community Participation: 5%
● Infrastructure will not be considered for grading of school
This time the External Evaluators has to register themselves in on-line portal for Gunotsav and update their profile. Further, the External Evaluator has to submit confidential report through online in the Gunotsav portal. It needs mention here that the State Government of Assam has implemented ‘Gunotsav- a quality initiative’ from the academic year, 2017 for ensuring attaining grade specific learning outcomes by all children defined by NCERT. Already two rounds of Gunotsav have been conducted in all 33 districts of the state.
