Gujarat Diamond merchant gifts 600 cars to employees on Diwali

October 26: Surat-based diamond firm Hari Krishna Group, reportedly gifted 600 cars to its employees. Not only cars, some employees also received fixed deposits as part of the company’s “loyalty bonus program”. The employees of Hare Krishna Exporters were presented with a brand new Maruti Suzuki Alto and Maruti Suzuki Celerio cars, the on-road price of which is up to Rs 3.56 lakh and Rs 5.38 lakh, respectively.

This is not the first time that Savji Dholakia, the Surat-based diamond merchant has gifted cars to his employees. It is a practice that began in 2011 and has continued every year. Back in 2016, the diamond tycoon gave 1,260 cars, 400 flats and jewellery to his employees as Diwali gifts. Last month, the diamond trader had gifted three Mercedes-Benz GLS SUVs worth Rs 3 crore to three senior staffs who completed 25 years at the company.

Savji Dholakia, the Founder and Chairman of the company, shared a Facebook post, complete with pictures, describing the grand event. “As a part of the company’s loyalty bonus program, the HKGroup gave incentives to approximately 1,700 diamond artists and diamond engineers in the form of cars and fixed deposits,” says the post.

On Thursday, Mr Dholakia distributed 600 cars to the staff of his company, Hare Krishna Exports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed out keys to the brand new cars to four of the employees, including a physically challenged woman, at a grand event organised by the billionaire.

Dholakia’s Hari Krishna Group has approximately 5,500 employees out of which 4,000 have already received expensive gifts on the occasion of Diwali, so far.
