Govt may soon ban sale of loose cigarettes

way2barak, Dec.12: The government of India may soon implement a ban on the sale of loose cigarettes to curb tobacco product use. According to the reports, the Standing Committee of Parliament has proposed a ban on the sale of single cigarettes.

Among various other recommendations, the Committee has suggested restricting the sale of single cigarettes, reports said. The government had banned e-cigarettes at the Health Ministry’s recommendations in 2019.
