Govt employees may also get ration card, says Jayanta Malla
way2barak, January 25: Ration card is very important. The poor people can be benefited through this card. To bring development in Assam, the common people have to developed. This was stated by the minister for Public Health Engineering,Skill Development employment & Entrepreneurship and Tourism Jayanta Mallabaruah, who was the chief guest at the new ration card distribution ceremony at Dolu HS school grounds under Borkhola constituency on Wednesday.
Minister Mallabaruah said that people can spend their hard earned money in other sectors as they will get rice through ration card. 8208 new ration cards will be distributed based under Borkhola constituency. 29 thousand people will be benefited from this scheme.
He also said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, ration cards will be distributed in every constituency of Assam and government will not tolerate any sort of corruption related to the distribution of ration cards. He further mentioned that people whose yearly income is less than 4 lakhs will also get ration card . A govt employee whose yearly salary is less than 4lakh will also get ration card,the minister further added.
Minister Mallabaruah also cautioned that in exchange for the ration card, any kind of malpractices will not be tolerated and people will get three benefits through ration card. In addition to rice , people will get free treatment facilities of Ayushman scheme worth five lakh rupees and free ujjala gas connection.
Speaking on the occasion,Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy said that the ration card is not only applicable for free food items but also it includes other benefits given by the government.He underscored the various central and state government’s schemes. He said that Ayushman Card is quite important which includes free health services worth Rs 5 lakh. Dr. Roy also highlighted various developmental projects of the present government.
Earlier, district commissioner,Rohon Kumar Jha said that only 2000 ration cards will be distributed on the occasion and remaining ration cards will be distributed through GP from Thursday. He further stated that If there is any kind of mistake in the card, beneficiaries have to inform to their respective GP and after the correction new ration card will also be handed over. DC Rohan Kumar Jha also requested to keep the ration card with the beneficiary and not to keep it at GP office or fair price shop.
DC Rohan Kumar Jha further stated that each member will get five kg of rice. The new card holders will collect the rice of this month from the fair price shops by registering through biometrics by January 31. Moreover, the beneficiaries will get rice from the shop at a fair price after every 10 days.
Later, Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy and Cachar DC Rohan Kumar Jha ceremonially handed over the ration cards to the 5 beneficiaries on the occasion.
The program was also attended by Cachar superintendent of police,Numal Mahatto and other officials of cachar district administration.
