Lions Club of Silchar Valley light candles to pay homage to martyrs of Assam Police

July 30: As a mark of tribute to the six Assam Police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty at Lailapur in Assam – Mizoram border, candles were lighted by Lions Club of Silchar Valley at the pedestal of the statue of Khudiram. After lightning the candles, Secretary of the Lions Club, Sanjeeb Roy said, “We denounce in strong words, the barbaric act committed by the Mizo forces on last Monday. We demand stern action against such atrocities.”

Present during the occasion were President of Lions Club of Silchar Valley Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Secretary Sanjeeb Roy, Vice President Tanushree Bhattacharjee & Kanakeshwar Bhattacharjee, members Chandrabati Roy, Kaushik Prasad Bhattacharjee, Bandita Trivedi Roy, Sahabuddin Ahmed, Subha Roy among others.
