Former Tripura MLA Manoranjan Acharjee dies of COVID-19 at 58
Sept. 21: A former CPI(M) MLA Manoranjan Acharjee (58) from Tripura who represented the Amarpur Assembly constituency died due to COVID-19 on Saturday night. He was admitted to the GBP Hospital for treatment after detected COVID-19 positive. He was also suffering from comorbidities. As per reports, his wife also tested positive and is now admitted at the same hospital.
Manoranjan Acharjee became MLA twice in 2008 and 2013 on CPI(M) ticket from from Amarpur constituency in Tripura. He later on joined the BJP after being expelled from CPI (M) after several allegations were levelled against him.
