Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya takes part in Chhath Puja

Nov. 21: State Minister for Forest and Environment, Excise and Fisheries, Parimal Suklabaidya took part in Chhath Puja at different parts of Dholai constituency on Friday. Taking part in the festivity, Minister Suklabaidya extended his greetings and best wishes to the entire community. On the same day, he also laid the foundation stone of a Chhatpuja Ghat under Dholai GP at a cost of Rs Three lakh and a CC block road at an estimated cost of Rs Seven lakh thirty five thousand under the 14th Finance Commission.

Speaking on the occasion, Suklabaidya said that Chhat Puja used to be held especially in tea gardens and Hindi speaking areas. He said that in this puja, the Sun and the Ganga are worshipped. Suklabaidya said, “Basically, the ritual of Chhat Puja is all about creation, that is, the sun as the originator of the mystery of creation. If there is no sun, there is no earth. Sun and water are the two lifelines of the creation.” He extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of his Dholai constituency. In an optimistic note, the minister said that with the blessings on the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja, the society would be liberated from the grip of present COVID-19 situation.
