For the 1st time after almost 7 months, no +ve case reported in Cachar on 19 January
Active cases 30 in Cachar
Jan. 19: The first case of coronavirus infection in Assam was registered in Silchar on 31 May, 2020. Since then, it became almost a regular feature. However, on a positive note, no positive cases were reported in Cachar district on 19 May, 2021. This is for the 1st time almost since the 1st case was reported that Cachar is moving ahead as a Covid free district.
On Tuesday, no new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1,406 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, none were found positive.Further, none were also detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Tuesday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 11,428. Further, a total of 11,360 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 38 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 30 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 03 persons were found positive in Cachar on Monday.
