Flood water from Chandicharan Road being drained out by 2 pumps on Tuesday

May 24: Just as pumps were used to drain out flood water from Itkhola, Malugram and Ghoniwala, a similar strategy was taken in hand by Silchar MLA Dipayan Chanraborty to drain out the water from inside Chandicharan Road. Since, Friday, flood water entered Chandicharan Road. Water also went inside the houses in that area. At the initiative of Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, pump was used on Monday to drain out the accumulated water from inside Chandicharan Road.

On the 2nd day, that is, on Tuesday also pumps were used constantly for this purpose. On Tuesday two pumps were used since morning. Though it will take some more time for the entire Chandicharan Road to dry up, yet the effort of the MLA was highly praised by the people of the locality.

Informing this on Monday, MLA Chakraborty said, “Today we have installed 15 HP Pump near Chandi Charan Road. Trying to remove logged water like Malugram. This work is going on under the leadership of Debasish Shome and Hirak Choudhury, my nominees in SMB and PWD and under the supervision of Ashutosh Deka, Executive Officer. of Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) Thanks to Debasish Shome for implementing my thoughts promptly.”

As Rangirkhal flows nearby Chandicharan Road, the water from Chandicharan Road is being emptied into this khal. However, this would take atleast another day to drain out the entire water. Debasish Shome, the nominee of MLA Dipayan Chakraborty in Silchar Municipal Board (SMB) was stationed there for a long period of time and overseeing the entire process of draining out water. “We are trying out utmost. Soon we will also be adopting similar measures to drain out the water from Public School Road so that the people of that area who are water logged since last few days gets relief,” said Debasish Shome.
