Flood: Expert team of NESAC Barapani & NIT Silchar to study entire Barak basin

June 29: Today in the 77th meeting of Brahmaputra Board in New Delhi, a decision was taken that a high level expert team of NESAC Barapani and NIT Silchar will study the entire Barak basin (spread over 11 district of Nagaland, Manipur Mizoram, Assam & Meghalaya) within 3 months and come up with effective recommendations for implementation of flood control measures. All the States supported the decision and it was adopted by the Board.
