Flood erosion forces closure of Siristhal–Amaranagar road of Cachar for heavy vehicles until further notice

Way2barak, July 14 : In view of damage caused by recent floods, the road connecting Siristhal to Amaranagar has been declared closed to all types of heavy vehicular traffic with effect from July 14, 2025, until further orders.

According to a notification issued by the Executive Engineer of the PWRD, Silchar & Udharbond Territorial Road Division, the approach to the bridge on this stretch has suffered significant erosion, rendering it unsafe for large vehicles. Authorities have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and urged all concerned to adhere to the restriction for their safety and to prevent further damage.
