No hard evidence of community transmission of coronavirus in India till now
No rises in cases if people strictly adhere to rules: Health Ministry
March 26: The Ministry of Health, Government of India on Thursday stated that there is no hard evidence of community transmission of coronavirus in the country till now. Joint Secretary of the Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal said, “Yes, we may not be able to trace some contacts of all positive cases, but these cases are sporadic.” He further stated that at this moment, there is no necessity of declaring the whole country in community transmission stage.
R. Ganga Ketkar of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said, “The steps taken by the government are so effective that if we fllow them strictly, the coronavirus cases will hardly increase in the country.” Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked union ministers to scale up production of medical equipment in their respective areas.
