Film Fest ‘Gandhi Panorama 2022’ starts in Silchar; school students attend in large number
April 3: In a significant development, Gandhi Panorama Film Festival 2022 was inaugurated at Banga Bhawan, Silchar on Sunday. The ‘Gandhi Panorama 2022’ was formally inaugurated by DIG Southern Assam Range, Kankan Jyoti Saikia. The festival will feature several cinemas dealing with Gandhi and his principles. Students from many schools of Silchar, teachers of both schools and colleges, government officials were seen to attend the film fest on Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. However, the film fest failed to attract mass people.
The occasion was also graced by Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli, Superintendent of Police Ramandeep Kaur, DDC Rajib Roy, Producer of ‘Gandhi Panorama 2022’, BJP district president Nitya Bhushan Dey among others. Earlier, Governor of Assam, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi was supposed to inaugurate the film fest. However, due to certain exigencies, he was unable to attend the ceremony.
The Film Festival was organised by the India Infotainment Media Corporation of Mumbai Film Directorate. The Fest was held in two sessions on 3 April, the first session began at 10.30 AM, while the second session started at 1.30 PM. Moreover, entry to the Film Fest was free.
Gandhi Panorama 2022 is an innovative and unique medium to send across the philosophy and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi to the younger generation. Gandhi Panorama is being held in seven locations–Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Nagaon, Cachar and Bongaigaon districts. The film festival has been funded from the Governor’s discretionary fund.
