Female teacher in Assam made to kneel down & apologise before students; locals shocked

Oct. 14: Students’ agitation for just demands is a part of any democratic set-up, but when such movements forget their limitations, it indeed becomes vulgar and condemnable. One such humiliating incident which occured last week in Assam came to light recently. Students of Philobari School, DoomDooma, Tinsukia organised a sit-in demonstration on the school campus against the admission fees. Locals informed that the students were backed by a few local organisations.

While the protest was going on, a female teacher raised her voice against the agitating students. This was enough for them to take the extreme step of compelling that teacher to kneel down and then lie on the ground and seek apology before the students. Indeed, such a bizarre incident has even angered the local populace who expressed great shock.

The school claimed that the students without informing the them took to the extreme step of agitation and that too in an indecent manner. The school claimed that they could have atleast discussed the issue with them. The incident receeived huge backlash even on social media. A netizen commented, “If this be the nature of students’ agitation, then all such forms of agitation should be banned. How can one humiliate one’s teachers!”
