Fatty liver detection camp successfully conducted at Silchar

Way2barak, February 15 : Bharat Vikas Parishad, Dakshin Silchar Branch, organized a highly impactful Fatty Liver Detection Health Camp on February 14, 2026, at Shillong Patty, Silchar, reaffirming its commitment to community health and preventive care.

The camp was aimed at raising awareness about the growing prevalence of fatty liver disease—an increasingly common lifestyle-related disorder—and promoting the importance of early screening to avert serious liver complications. A total of 30 beneficiaries, comprising both male and female participants, availed themselves of the screening services during the camp.

The diagnostic evaluations were conducted using the advanced FibroScan machine, a state-of-the-art, non-invasive technology designed to assess liver fat accumulation and fibrosis. The procedure was quick, painless, and highly reliable, enabling immediate analysis of liver stiffness and fat content, with prompt reporting provided to each patient.

Medical screening and expert consultations were conducted by Dr. Darshana Patoa and Dr. Ankur Bhattacharjee, who offered comprehensive guidance on dietary regulation, lifestyle modification, weight management, and preventive strategies aimed at controlling and potentially reversing fatty liver disease.

Addressing the gathering, President of BVP Dakshin Silchar Branch Dr. Kingshuk Adhikari underscored the significance of timely diagnosis and consistent monitoring, particularly in the context of the alarming rise in lifestyle-induced liver disorders. Secretary Sankar Sarkar extended heartfelt gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed the branch’s dedication to organizing similar community-centric health initiatives in the future.
The camp concluded on a highly successful note, marked by enthusiastic public participation and overwhelmingly positive feedback from beneficiaries.
