Fatal accident claims 1 life at Silchar- Kalain road, another severely injured

May 8: In a tragic incident, a head-on collision between a scooty and an oil tanker claimed the life of the scooty rider. The pillion rider also sustained grave injuries. On Sunday evening, at around 5.30 PM, the accident occurred at a place called Padritilla area in Kalain- Silchar route.

As per report, an oil tanker which came at a very high speed collided with a scooty. The scooty rider, identified as Ajit Deb (39) who hails from Telicherra in Bihara died on the spot. Whereas, a female pillion rider was severely injured. She was admitted to the hospital. The oil tanker, however, managed to escape from the spot at a great pace and none were able to trace it.

Meanwhile, the local people got enraged by the incident and blocked the road. Police forces reached the spot and were negotiating with the public till the filing of this report.
