Director of state Agriculture department is on a 3-day official visit to Barak Valley
July 16: Vinod Seshan, IAS, Secretary to the Govt.of Assam, Department of Agriculture and also the Director of Agriculture, Assam along with a team of state level officers arrived on a 3 days official visit to Barak Valley Zone. He along with the officers reached Silchar on Thursday.
As a part of his visit, the Director has visited the Office of the District Agriculture Officer, Cachar; the E.E.(Agri.), Silchar; the JDA (SZ), Silchar & also the under construction site of the soil testing & quality control laboratory at Sadarghat, Silchar.
Later on during the day, the Director attended a review meeting in the Meeting Hall of the DRDA which was chaired by Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. The review meeting was also attended by the officials of Agriculture & its allied departments, like, Fishery, Veterinary & A.H etc. A gamut of issues, such as, implementation of the different central sector & state sector schemes/ programmes of the concerned departments, including PM-KISAN, PMFBY, RKVY, NFSM, APART, SHC and BGREI came up during the discussion.
