Except extreme medical emergency & maternity issues, no leave to be granted before conduct of Gunotsav in Cachar: DMC
June 5: In the backdrop of Gunotsav 2022, there was a strict instruction from both Office of the District Elementary Education Officer, Cachar as well as from District Mission Coordinator (DMC), Sarba Siksha Abjijan (SSA), Cachar that no leave is to be forwarded from the block, except leave for extreme medical emergencies and maternity leave.
Gunotsav in Cachar district was supposed to be held on and from 1 to 4 June, 2022. However, due to natural calamities, Gunotsav in Cachar was postponed. It was further informed that the new schedule for Gunotsav 2022 in Cachar will be declared soon. It is in this context that the District Mission Coordinator (DMC), SSA, Cachar in a letter addressed to the Deputy Inspector (DI) of Schools, Silchar and all Block Elementary Education Officers (BEEOs) stated that they should be strict in sanctioning leave to the teachers except in extreme medical emergencies and maternity leave, until completion of Gunotsav 2022 in the district.
DMC, SSA Cachar in the letter also expressed her displeasure as long period of leave were sanctioned in respect of some teachers without taking prior approval of the appropriate authority. The DMC made it clear to the DI Schools and BEEOs to be extremely careful and strict before sanctioning leave to the teachers. The DMC wrote, “I would like to draw your attention to the fact that various kinds of data appears to have been collected by the higher authority for conducting Gunotsav very soon in our district.”.
