Except 7 districts, curfew to be relaxed in rest of Assam including Cachar from Wednesday: CM
Shops will remain open till 3 PM, curfew from 4 PM from 14 July in Cachar & Karimganj
July 10: Apart from 7 districts under containment zone, curfew to be relaxed in other districts of Assam. These 7 districts are Goalpara, Sonitpur, Golaghat, Jorhat, Biswanath, Morigaon and North Lakhimpur. Apart from these, Sivsagar & Dibrugarh districts will also be kept under strict vigil. In rest of the districts, from Wednesday, the shops and business establishments will be kept open till 3 PM and curfew will be imposed from 4 PM. This was stated by Chief Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during a press meet held at Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanpara on Saturday.
That means, from 13 July onwards, along with Hailakandi; Cachar and Karimganj districts will also enjoy relaxations. Shops, business establishments and offices will remain open till 3 PM, whereas Covid curfew will be imposed from 4 PM. At present, shops remain opened in Cachar & Karimganj till 1 PM and curfew starts at 2 PM.
The Chief Minister further stated that in places where daily Covid cases exceeds 100, restrictions will be imposed. As Kamrup Metro is a big city, so there the threshold has been fixed at 250, added the CM.
