Earthquake rocks Assam along with entire Barak Valley
May 25: An earthquake rocked the entire Barak Valley along with major parts of North East India at 8:12 PM on Monday. Jolts were felt by people from across the state of Assam including Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi. The quake lasted for more than 50 seconds. The earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale had its origin at 15 kms West of Moirang in Manipur. The quake took place between Latitude 24.4941 and Longitude 93.6247. It occurred at a depth of 27.5 kms.
