Again! Earthquake measuring 4.6 rocks Assam

13 aftershocks experienced after the huge jolt of 6.4

April 29: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, jolted entire Assam including other parts of North East India at 1.20 AM on April 29. As per National Center for Seismology (NCS), it was stated, “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.6, occurred on 29-04-2021, 01:20:53 (IST), Lat: 26.72 & Long: 92.43, Depth: 19 Km ,Location: 36 km West of Tezpur, Assam, India.” It needs mention here that on Wednesday morning, a major quake occured, which led to heavy loss.

Here is the sequence of the earthquakes that occured on Wednesday with its epicenter near Tezpur, Assam:

  • 7.51 AM: 6.4 Richter scale
  • 8.03 AM: 4.7 Richter scale
  • 8.13 AM: 4.0 Richter scale
  • 8.25 AM: 3.6 Richter scale
  • 8.44 AM: 3.6 Richter scale
  • 10.05 AM: 3.2 Richter scale
  • 10.39 AM: 3.4 Richter scale
  • 12.32 PM: 2.9 Richter scale
  • 14.34 PM: 3.4 Richter scale
  • 15.55 PM: 2.9 Richter scale
  • 17.35 PM: 3.0 Richter scale
  • 21.38 PM: 2.8 Richter scale
  • 12.24 AM: 2.6 Richter scale
  • 1.20 AM: 4.6 Richter scale
