ত্রিপুরা সীমান্তে আড়াই লক্ষের নেশার ট্যাবলেট উদ্ধার
Drugs worth Rs.2.5 lakh recovered at Tripura border

১৩ সেপ্টেম্বর : আসাম ত্রিপুরা সীমান্তবর্তী সোনাখিরা থেকে ফের কিছু নেশা জাতীয় ট্যাবলেট উদ্ধার করল পুলিশ। একটি মোটর বাইকে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে পুলিশ এগুলো উদ্ধার করে। উদ্ধার হওয়া নেশাজাতীয় ট্যাবলেট-এর বর্তমান বাজার মূল্য প্রায় আড়াই লক্ষ টাকা।

এ ঘটনায় আব্দুল কাদির ও আফতাব উদ্দিন নামে স্থানীয় দুই যুবককে পুলিশ গ্রেফতার করেছে। ধৃত দুই যুবকের বাড়ি পাথারকান্দি থানাধীন টিলাবাড়ি টুকেরবাজার গ্রামে। এই দুই যুবককে শুক্রবার আদালতে তোলা হবে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, এ ব্যাপারে তাদের কাছে আগে থেকেই খবর ছিল। সে অনুযায়ী, আজ বিকেল তিনটে নাগাদ পাথারকান্দি থানার ওসি ডিম্বেশ্বর ঠাকুরিয়া পুলিশ বাহিনী নিয়ে সোনাখিরা চেক গেটের পাশে সাদা পোশাকে অপেক্ষায় ছিলেন।

পাথারকান্দি থেকে ত্রিপুরার দিকে যাওয়া একটি মোটর বাইক দেখে পুলিশের সন্দেহ হলে তারা এতে তল্লাশি চালান। আর তখনই বাইকের ভেতর থেকে উদ্ধার হয় নেশাজাতীয় ট্যাবলেটগুলো। পুলিশ জানায়, উদ্ধার হওয়া ট্যাবলেটের সংখ্যা ১০ হাজারের বেশি হবে।

নেশাজাতীয় ট্যাবলেট উদ্ধারের ঘটনায় পুনরায় ত্রিপুরা সীমান্ত দিয়ে রমরমা পাচার বাণিজ্য ফের সামনে এল। সচেতন মহল এ ঘটনায় গভীর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছেন।

September 13: Police has again recovered drug tablets from Sonakhira, located in the bordering area of Assam and Tripura. Police recovered the tablets during searching a motorbike. The drug tablets recovered has a market price worth Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Police has arrested two local youth, Aftab Uddin and Abdul Kadir. They are residents of Tilabari Tukergram village of Patherkandi. Both of them will be produced before the court on Friday. Police sources have informed that they had prior information about the two persons. As such, Dimbeshwar Thakuriya, OC of Patharkandi Police Station was waiting along with his forces in plain clothes at Sonakhita check gate.

When they saw a motorbike going towards Tripura from Patharkandi, they became a bit suspicious. They stopped the motorbike and on searching it police recovered the drug tablets. More than 10,000 tablets were recovered by the Police from them.

The recovery of the drug tablets has again brought to light the issue that Tripura borders has been used by the drug peddlers for smuggling such things till now. This has become a matter of concern for the people of larger Barak Valley.
