Drive against encroachments lead to clearance of over 81 hectare under Karimganj Forest Division

June 29: Environment and Forest department personnel recovered 73.8 hectare under Longai, Duhalia, Badshahi Tilla and Tilbhum reserve forests under Karimganj Forest Division. A total number of 21 fisheries were dismantled and two numbers of betel nut plantations cleared from the reserve forests in a drive against encroachments conducted by forest personnel on Saturday and Sunday. The total area cleared was 73.8 hectare approximately.
