DPR to be prepared for sinking zone near Tarapur Shib Bari Road: Cabinet
Feasibility studies to be done for elevated road from Ramnagar to Trunk Road & Capital point to Circular point of Rangirkhari
way2barak, Jan.4: In the weekly Assam Cabinet on January 4, several key decisions related to foundational learning in early childhood, setting up an integrated directorate complex, approval to Assam City Gas Distribution Policy 2022, land settlement, etc., among others were taken. The Cabinet Meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Further, a few important decisions pertaining to Silchar were also taken in this cabinet meeting.
For streamlining traffic movement in the state, consultancy services for 9 projects awarded to RITES Ltd. on nomination basis for Rs.24.57 cr to reduce traffic congestion and streamline traffic were taken in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Of these, preparation of DPR’s for seven projects in the state were undertaken. Out of the 7 projects, one was related to Silchar:
- Road section between km 0 + 000 to km 1 + 000 (sinking zone near Tarapur- Shibbari from km 0 + 450 to km 0 + 550) in Silchar.
Further, the Cabinet on Wednesday also decided to conduct feasibility studies regarding two development projects in Silchar. These are:
- Elevated road from Ramnagar to Trunk Road (near RRNMU Building) of NH-37 in Silchar
- Elevated road from Capital point to Circular point of Rangirkhari of NH-306 in Silchar
