Don’t do any construction or encroach public drainage system, says MP Rajdeep Roy

June 13: The residents of Link Road in Silchar had to suffer a lot with the onset of the rainy season. For days together, there was the issue of water logging over there which created lot of problems for the local populace. On the 8th day of water logging, Silchar Municipal Board took initiatives to address the problem of water stagnation in Link Road area. Two culverts blocking the drains were demolished on Sonai Road while dredging was also carried out on Hailakandi Road drains.

On Saturday, Silchar MP Dr. Rajdeep Roy visited Sonai Road and Link Road areas to monitor the work of drain clearance undertaken by Silchar Municipality under the leadership of Sumit Sattawan. Dr Rajdeep Roy expressed satisfaction at the speed of work undertaken by the Municipality and appealed to the local public not to do any construction or encroachment on public drainage system. During his visit, MP Silchar also interacted with the local populace. He assured full cooperation to the Municipality
