Don’t book tickets for journeys after 3 May, strict instruction by Ministry of Civil Avaiation
April 19: “It is brought to the notice of all that no decision to commence operation of domestic and international flights with effect from 4th of May 2020 has been taken yet.” This was stated in a circular issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation on 19 April for all airlines asking them to refrain from booking tickets. The circular further stated that it came to the notice of the ministry that several airlines have started booking after 4 May, 2020.
It needs mention here that the nationwide lockdown has been declared till 3 May, 2020 and some airlines started online booking on select routes for journeys after 3 May. The notice issued on 19 April further stated that airlines will be given sufficient notice and time for restarting operations. Hence, all airlines were asked to stop advance booking of flight journeys until it is notified by the concerned ministry.
