District task force meeting on COVID-19 held in Cachar

Jan. 9: A meeting of the Cachar District Task Force on COVID-19 & NID was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli. It needs mention here that a dry run for COVID vaccination was held on Friday at SM Dev Civil Hospital, Urban PHC & Green Heals Hospital. The training of health workers are going on as appraised by BPHC. This year Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (National Immunization Day) will be held from 17/01/2021 -19/01/2021. DC, Cachar appealed to the public to come forward and to vaccinate their babies (0-5 yrs) against Polio with two drops of polio vaccine. After that an orientation cum review meeting was held with the Tea Garden Mangers focussing on “Mission Uttaran” and health & nutritional issues of tea garden communities.

The meeting was attended by ADC (H), ADC (AADHAR), JDHS, DPM (NHM), Asstt.Labour Commissioner, District level programme officers, Dy.Supdt. & other doctors of SMCH, Supdt. SMDCH, BPHC in-charges , DPMU, BPMU, Piramal Swasthya, HLFPPT (MMU) & other related Govt.line departments.

The District Health Society, Cachar under the aegis of District Administration, Cachar has taken up a Pilot Project MISSION UTTARAN in 28 tea gardens of Cachar district to address IMR, MMR &TFR. The ADC (H), ADC (AADHAR) & DPM, NHM made presentation on progress of implementation of tea garden related schemes and the Deputy Commissioner directed all Tea Garden Managers to support Health Department for better implementation of Govt initiatives which will ultimately contribute for better health of their workers.
