District road safety : Officials honoured for exceptional contributions

way2barak, April 1 : The District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) meeting for the month of March was held in Cachar, chaired by Mridul Yadav, the District Commissioner of Cachar. The focus of the meeting was to discuss critical road safety issues and strategies to ensure the safety of commuters on the district’s roads.
During the meeting, several individuals and teams were recognized and honored for their exceptional contributions to road safety in Cachar. Aniruddha Nag, Executive Engineer from the Public Works Department (PWD), was awarded for his technical contributions towards road safety. Dr. Mrianal Kanti Nathlaskar, an ophthalmic specialist at SM Dev Civil Hospital, received recognition for his invaluable medical efforts in addressing road accident-related injuries. Simanta Das, the Enforcement Inspector of Cachar, was praised for his active enforcement initiatives in promoting safe driving. Dr. Bidyut Deb Choudhury, the District Programme Officer for Samagra Shiksha, was acknowledged for his work in raising awareness through community festival programs. N. Sujoy Kumar Singha, Junior District Administrative Assistant at the District Commissioner’s office, was recognized for his administrative support and efforts in improving DRSC communications. Additionally, Rakesh Singh from the Cachar Police was honored for his diligent work in enforcement.
The meeting was attended by several key figures, including Numal Mahatta, the Superintendent of Police for Cachar, Subrata Sen, the Additional District Commissioner, Antara Sen, the Additional Superintendent of Police, Ramesh Shyam, the District Transport Officer and representatives from various departments including PWD, Transport, and the Police.
This meeting served as a vital step towards fostering a safer road environment in Cachar, with stakeholders from multiple sectors coming together to address the pressing road safety challenges facing the district.
