District level Committee constituted in Cachar for public health response to COVID-19
Nov.22: In view of COVID-19 pandemic, a District Level Committee has been constituted in the district for implementation of an action plan that has been devised for ‘public health response to COVID-19: campaign for COVID appropriate behaviour’ and for monitoring its performance on day-to- day basis.
An order to this effect was issued here on Tuesday by Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson of District Disaster Management Authority, Keerthi Jalli. Besides the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar as the Chairperson of the committee, the other members are District Development Commissioner cum Chief Executive Officer, DDMA, Superintendent of Police Cachar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (I/c Health), DPO, DDMA, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, Barak Valley Zone and DSP, Headquarters.
The order stated that apart from implementing and monitoring the action plan, the committee will prepare the customised awareness for the district and will share it with the nodal officer who will disseminate the same. In addition to that, all district level committees will share and retweet the campaigns by putting it up in Assam Police Social Media Centre and Nagorik Mitra for wider reach.
The committee will earmark important locations such as market places, railways and bus stands, prominent educational and religious institutions and will take necessary arrangements for installation of hoardings, wall paintings, electronic displays etc. Running mobile vans will also play pre-recorded audio advisory in remote areas. Village Defence Parties will be engaged in awareness campaign in every village.
