District Committee Convention of Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvattor held in Silchar

July 24: The District Committee Convention of Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvattor was held at Silchar on Sunday.  The Meeting started with an organisational song. The Secretary then read the report of the organisation for the last three years.

The meeting unanimously selected the new Office bearers with Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty, Associate Professor, Assam University as President, Ritam Bhattacharjee as Vice President, Ratnadip Paul as General Secretary, Radha Rani Das as Secretary, Rajesh Nath as Secretary, Pallabita Sharma as Publicity Secretary.

The Meeting was followed by Certificate distribution ceremony, which was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Cachar District, Rohan Kumar Jha and District Sports Officer Satya Nath Das. It needs mention here that Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvattor organised ‘Kreeda Mahotsav’ in Sarusajai Stadium where youths from Eight Border districts of Assam participated. From Cachar District, 36 youths from Indo- Bangla border areas under Katigorah constituency participated. Today on the occasion of District convention, certificates were distributed to all of the participants.

Deputy Commissioner in his address congratulated all the participants and inspired them to work hard to achieve success in life. District Sports Officer also shared success stories with the youths and motivated them to sustain their practice. Dr. Debotosh Chakraborty in his presidential address congratulated all the participants and assured them that the District Committee is ready to extend all support to them.

Seemanta Chetana Mancha is working relentlessly for the cause of the people residing in the border areas. In the last devastating flood, the Organisation in association with the Hans Foundation distributed relief materials worth Rs. 30 lakh at all the adjacent areas of international border areas.
