Dist administration organises voter awareness programme on Basant Panchami

Feb. 17: On the occasion of “Basant Panchami”, voter awareness programme was organised in collaboration with College authorities and District Administration Cachar at Gurucharan College, Cachar College and at Women’s college culminating on Tuesday which aims at targeting youth voters and to motivate them to caste their votes in the upcoming Assembly elections, 2021.

Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli graced the occasion as the chief guest in presence Election Officer, Cachar, Assistant Commissioner and circle officers. A large number of students participated in signature campaign, rongoli design on voter awareness and took pledge to vote.

The theme of the programme was voter awareness and women empowerment. While speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli said, “Young voters should come forward and cast their valuable votes in the upcoming Assembly Election, 2021.” She also emphasized on women empowerment and described the youth of Cachar as the combination of innovation, creativity and energy.
