Deputy Speaker Aminul Haque washes feet of plasma donor & felicitates him

August 13: Sonai MLA and Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assemble, Aminul Haque Laskar expressed his gratitude to the first plasma donor from Silchar, Nabidul Islam Laskar on Thursday. The Deputy Speaker visited the house of Nabidul at Kanapur in Silchar and also washed his feet. he later on feliciated Nabidul with a memento.

It needs mention here that Aminul Haque Laskar was also infected with coronavirus and was admitted at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). He was the 1st patient in SMCH to receive plasma.

Expressing his reaction, Aminul Haque Laskar said, “When I was admitted in Silchar Medical College and Hospital someone has donated me plasma and gave me back my life and that was the first plasma treatment in Silchar. I promised then that though I don’t know who donated me plasma & gave me back my life but since then, I would be grateful to every plasma donor. So, today I congratulate Mr. Nabidul Islam Laskar of Kanakpur, Silchar, the first plasma donor of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, and I washed his feet as I said I would on news channels yesterday.”

The Deputy Speaker further said, “Plasma donation means life donation. I urge the public of every level to come forward to donate plasma and encourage others to donate plasma as well. If we can build a plasma bank at Silchar Medical College, the recovery rate of Barak valley will be much higher.”
