Dept of English of RMC & IQAC organise lecture on literary studies delivered by Prof A Syam Choudhury

way2barak, Dec.17: The Department of English, Radhamadhab College, Silchar in collaboration with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) initiated the episode of its Lecture Series on Literary Studies programme with a deliberation on “Reading Poetry in the English Classroom,” which was delivered by Prof. Anindya Syam Choudhury, HOD of English, Assam University, Silchar. The talk was addressed to the students with Honours, Elective and Alternative specialization in English of CBCS, Odd Semester course.

The resource person, Prof. Anindya Syam Choudhury chiefly highlighted on the aptitudes through which poetry should be read as evocation of aroused feeling of human imagination. He also cited examples from various sources and references and poems in general to emphasize the specifications of poetic structure and defined innumerable angles at looking into poetry as an open spectrum of diverse interpretations.

The programme was conducted by Arunabha Bhattacharjee, a senior faculty of the Dept of English and the guest speaker was felicitated and introduced by Dr. Arundhati Dutta Choudhury, HOD of the Deptt. The vote of thanks was delivered by Namrata Nath, a faculty of the Deptt of English, while the guest lecturers, Baishali Chakravorty and Devjani Deb assisted to carry out the smooth conduct of the programme. The event was also attended by Dr. Sonali Choudhury, IQAC Coordinator of Radhamadhab College and Dr. Munni Deb Mazumder, a senior faculty of Janata College, Kabuganj.
