Delhi HC rebukes Baba Ramdev not to misled people over efficacy of Covid vaccine on Coronil claims

Aug 17: In a significant observation, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday rebuked Yoga guru Baba Ramdev for questioning the efficacy of Covid-19 vaccine pointing out that US President Joe Biden tested positive for the virus despite taking a booster dose. On this, the court said – do not say anything more than the official information. Don’t mislead people with your statements.

Justice Anup Bhambhani was hearing the petition moved by various doctors’ association alleging that Ramdev was spreading misinformation, prompting people not to get hospitalised by saying that allopathy was responsible for Covid-19 deaths.

The court said – it is okay to say that I do not want to take the vaccine, but it is a completely different thing to say that forget the vaccine, it is useless. The High Court was informed that even today  Patanjali’s website says that “Coronil is a treatment for Coronavirus which is backed by research”.

Ramdev’s lawyer said – This case is politically motivated. To defame Baba Ramdev, this case is being made Congress vs BJP. On this the court said – there is no place for politics in the court.
