Delegation of District Congress meets family of deceased at the crematorium

October 31: A delegation of Silchar District Congress Committee (DCC), led its President Pradip Kumar Dey visited the Silchar ‘Cremation Ground’ on Thursday to pay tribute to late Sonali Das and late Pompa Dey who lost their lives in a horrible truck mishap at Silchar on Wednesday.

The delegation had also met their family members and gave consolation and assured all sorts of cooperation in providing justice to them.

Later on interacting with media, the Congress leaders said that they have raised the demand to provide free treatment to the injured persons. Demand was also raised to give immediate compensation to the family members of the deceased. Further, the DCC demanded an immediate enquiry into the entire episode. They expressed surprise as to how the truck was allowed to enter Silchar town during the no-entry hours.

Apart from the DCC President, the delegation comprised of Sanjeev Roy ,Secretary APCC, Rajesh Deb, Mohanlal Das, Rajdip Deb Roy, Anupam Paul and Amirlal Goala.
