Delegation led by Atul Bora & Ashok Singhal to visit Aizawl on 5 Aug with message of peace

Aug 4: Since 26 July, when 6 Assam Police jawans were killed during the firing by Mizo forces, relation between Assam and Mizoram has become strained. In order to defuse the tensed atmosphere, Assam Ministers Atul Bora and Ashok Singhal will be visiting Aizawl on 5 August where they will be meeting ministers of Mizoram. Taking to his twitter handle, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Two of my senior colleagues Atul Bora and Ashok Singhal will visit Aizawl tomorrow with message of peace from people of Assam.”

Earlier, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga taking to his twitter handle commented, “Tomorrow the 5th of August, 2021 representatives from #Assam Govt. led by senior Minister will meet representatives of #Mizoram Govt. led by senior Minister. I am sure important steps will be achieved for the solution of the border problem.”
