Death continues! Another 2 Covid +ve patients die at SMCH in last 24 hours
Jan. 21: There has been a gradual rise in the number of daily positive cases in Cachar district. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 20 January to 5 PM on 21 January) witnessed the death of 02 more Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening.
The deceased were identified as:
- Amal Rabidas (54) from Nityanandapur Part-II in Hailakandi district tested Covid positive and was admitted at SMCH on 14 January. The patient, however, breathed his last at 8.15 PM on 20 January, 2022.
- Rakesh Suklabaidya (68) from Bahanwal in Cachar district tested Covid positive and got admitted at SMCH on 20 January. He died at 11.45 AM on 21 January, 2022.
Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 21 January, there were 39 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, 02 patients were put under ventilator support, and 09 in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 09 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 09 were discharged. A total of 60 patients were detected positive in RAT at SMCH and 16 in RTPCR on Friday. Majority of them detected positive on Friday opted for home isolation.
