DCs to make regular visits to hospitals & review facilities provided to Covid patients: Sonowal
CM Sonowal takes stock of Covid situation in a video conference with DCs, SPs & health officials
May 6: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal held a video conference on Thursday with the Deputy Commissioners, Police Superintendents, Principals of Medical Colleges and Joint Director (Health) of various districts along with senior officials. The virtual meeting was held primarily to review the Covid situation in all the districts of Assam.
Later on, taking to his twitter handle, CM Sarbananda Sonowal wrote, “I have directed the DCs to make regular visits to hospitals and review infra & facilities provided to COVID-19 patients. Officials were also directed to create awareness regarding COVID-19 in the respective districts amongst the public and enforce appropriate behaviour.”

Further, the officials were also directed to regularly sanitise weekly markets and check price rise of essential medicines, along with other essential commodities. He also urged district administrative officials to hold discussion with APDCL to ensure uninterrupted electricity. Further, the officials were directed to create necessary awareness regarding Covid in the tea garden areas.
