DC & SP Cachar checks suitability of auxiliary polling stations of Silchar LAC

Jan. 8: A joint verification was made by Deputy Commissioner, Cachar, Keerthi Jalli and Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Bhanwar Lal Meena to check suitability of the Auxiliary Polling Stations of Silchar LAC on Wednesday morning. As per sources, there were a total of 1464 polling booths in Cachar district. However, as precautionary measures due to COVID-19, 372 polling stations will be increased.

That means, there will be a total of 1836 polling stations taking into consideration the auxiliary polling booths in all the seven assembly constituencies within Silchar LAC. Infact, those polling stations which has got more than 1000 voters will have an auxiliary booth as per the direction of the Election Commission.
